A diamond-bearing additive — ultradispersed diamond cores in an X-ray-amorphous carbon shell — is introduced into the chrome electrolyte. The particles embed into the coating, refining the grain and densifying the structure. Protected by RU patent No. 2404294.

Report No. 14 of 26.09.2006. R18 steel taps with a 7 µm chrome-diamond coating, thread cutting in grade 20 steel: tool service life increased 4.9 times.
Testing on railway wheel rim specimens (GOST 10791-2011), MI-1 friction machine, 60,000 cycles: wheel specimen wear resistance +18%, total friction pair wear −11%, rolling contact fatigue resistance +5%. No increase in rail specimen wear.
